Cookie Policy
The Tooth Fairy Department (operated by toothfairydept.com)
Effective Date: March 12, 2026 · Last Updated: March 12, 2026
1.Overview
This Cookie Policy explains how The Tooth Fairy Department uses cookies and similar technologies. We are committed to transparency about our use of these technologies, particularly given that our Service is designed for use by children.
2.Child-Facing Pages
We use absolutely no cookies, tracking pixels, local storage, session storage, or any other tracking technology on child-facing pages.
This includes:
- The homepage and public registry (lostmytooth.com);
- The tracking code entry and icon keypad verification pages;
- All personalized fairy file pages (/registry/*); and
- Any other page accessible without Parent authentication.
Children can access their fairy files with zero tracking of any kind. Access verification is performed through randomized case codes and icon sequences that are not personal information and are not stored in the browser.
3.Parent-Facing Pages
On pages that require Parent authentication (account dashboard, checkout, settings), we use only the following:
Essential Session Cookies: Required to maintain your logged-in state. These cookies expire when you close your browser or after a set period of inactivity. They contain no personal information beyond a session identifier.
Preference Cookies: Optional cookies that remember your dashboard preferences (such as audio on/off settings). These are set only with your explicit action.
We do not use: advertising or marketing cookies; analytics cookies (Google Analytics, etc.); social media cookies or sharing widgets; or any third-party tracking cookies.
4.Stripe Payment Cookies
Our payment processor, Stripe, may set cookies on the checkout page to process payments securely and prevent fraud. These cookies are governed by Stripe's own cookie policy and are limited to payment processing functionality.
5.Your Choices
Because we use only essential cookies on Parent pages and no cookies on child pages, there is minimal need for cookie management. You can configure your browser to block all cookies, but this may prevent the Parent dashboard from functioning correctly. Blocking cookies will have no effect on child-facing pages as they use no cookies.
